Professor Anri Human is a qualified physiotherapist with over two decades of clinical and academic experience. She completed her PhD at the University of Cape Town in 2021, focusing on “The effect of inspiratory muscle training on clinical outcomes and health-related quality of life in children with neuromuscular disease and respiratory muscle weakness.” Currently, Anri holds the position of Associate Professor and Paediatrics lecturer in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Pretoria. She is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development. Her research interests include paediatric neuromuscular disorders, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and respiratory care in vulnerable populations.
Anri has presented at numerous national and international congresses, including the World Muscle Society Congress, TREAT-NMD, International Congress of Neuromuscular Diseases, and World Physiotherapy Congress. She has published in numerous local and international peer-reviewed journals and reviews for several physiotherapy and medical journals. She is an active member of various national and international committees. Anri also chairs the Research Committee of the South African Society of Physiotherapy.
