Dr Tarmara Kerbelker is a paediatrician employed at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and the University of Cape Town. She completed sub-specialist allergy training in 2013 and currently works within the Division of Ambulatory and Emergency Paediatrics. She is extensively involved in health leadership and management, clinical paediatric care and postgraduate teaching and training. With her strong systems knowledge within health, she navigates the complex world of Government and University processes, to advocate for collaborative paediatric healthcare.

She has examined the Diploma in Allergy since 2014, the Diploma in Child Health since 2016 and is the national co-convenor of the DCH since 2021. She examines exit examinations at both specialist and sub-specialist level and convenes a University module on Health Management and Leadership. She is the current chairperson of the Allergy Society of South Africa (ALLSA)and assumed her term of office in May 2025. She recognises the national need for training in allergy and is passionate about leveraging available resources to train all categories healthcare worker.
