Dr Marilyn Lungile Gabuza is the clinical head of department of Diagnostic Radiology at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital and has collective public and private practice experience of 15 years as a qualified radiologist.

Dr Gabuza spent 8 years in private practice at Donald Gordon Medical Centre before resuming her career in public service in 2023 based at the teaching institution affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand. Following an observership in MRI at Wits Donald Gordon medical centre in 2012 and has since had a special interest in body imaging including chest.

Dr Gabuza has attended various radiology congresses focusing on body imaging, chest included. Current research includes reading 250 baseline and 12 month follow up High Resolution CT scans of proven TB patients and is titled ‘Inflammation and Fibrosis in Pulmonary TB: The INFIN-TB Study’.
